Re: HARC now as a real email reflector
Thanks to Josh (KD7HLX), the HARC membership now has an email reflector.
What is a reflector?
Simply put, email sent to one address will reach all subscribers.
How will it be used?
The reflector will be used to post news & announcements from club
officers, schedules for upcoming programs, requests for help from
members to the ham community, offers for sale of equipment, and such. It
will ONLY be available to club members.
Will the volume of mail be too much?
We hope not. It is our desire that this tool be used to deliver timely
info to club members in a manner we're all used to: our email inbox.
Will this replace the VOX & website.
No. The club leadership and Jason are working on those too.
Why another list?
With any communication system there are benefits & drawbacks. At the
last officer's meeting it was concluded that the existing communication
formats were not meeting the needs of HARC members. After surveying
several clubs of comparable size, the mail reflector emerged as the best
tool for the job.
